Among the numerous performances of Maestro Salvatore Accardo recorded by Giulio Cesare Ricci, this album is one of the immortal pages of the violin repertoire. It is the concert for violin and orchestra in D Major Op. 61 by Ludwig Van Beethoven. In this album Salvatore Accardo is both violinist and conductor. The orchestra is the OCI - Italian Chamber Orchestra. For this recording Giulio Cesare Ricci chose the Arsenale della Pace – Sermig Association of Turin. A very natural sound. Giulio Cesare Ricci used the legendary and original Neumann U47, U48 and M49 valve microphones. The master was realized with the Ampex ATR 102, 2 tracks, ½ inch. 30ips. The mastering for the SACD was carried out by Giulio Cesare Ricci using the Signoricci's system, entirely analogue and valve. The tracks were recorded without any sound manipulation, without equalization, without reverb, without condensing or expanding the sound. ...a great performance, an album not to be missed.
