MORE BEST OF THE BEST is a collection of tracks that Giulio Cesare Ricci has selected from the most beautiful jazz productions of the legendary David Manley, an Anglo-American engineer famous throughout the world for his natural and tube sound.
The heart and soul of every recorded sound is the result of the acoustic properties of the room itself and the microphones used within those acoustics.
David Manley designed the VITAL MUSIC studio in Chino, California, only for "purist" recording techniques, all performances are captured through a Manley "Gold Reference" stereo condenser microphone, directly on 2 stereo tracks.
The Studer C37 with only Manley tube circuits was used for recording, at 15ips, without noise reduction.
To create the SACD Giulio Cesare Ricci transferred the original analog master to Pyramix using dCS A/D and D/A converters
Sound, pure and simple ... music, powerful and impressive.
The formations of the various songs are varied: piano, sax, acoustic guitar, drums and percussion, bass etc.....
Giulio Cesare Ricci wanted to celebrate the 35th anniversary of fonè by remembering the productions of David Manley with whom he had a great friendship and a special and lasting collaboration from a technical point of view.
