FULVIO PIERANGELINI RACCONTA L’INVERNO

Basso Continuo: Cecilia Radic violoncello - Laura Manzini cembalo

“For several years I wanted to involve Fulvio Pierangelini in a recording project where his Art would be linked to Music… and here is this idea that sees the great “classic” by Vivaldi together with the stories about the 4 seasons narrated by my friend the great chef. He has never wanted to write books about recipes (he can’t stand them) and I provoked him by asking him to write 4 stories about the 4 seasons that I then linked to the interpretation of one of the most prestigious editions produced by fonè with Salvatore Accardo and the Italian Chamber Orchestra. And he would not only have to write them but also “decant”. In addition to recounting the sensations, memories, details that accompanied the unfolding of the days through the different seasons, I also asked him to include some “ingredients”. And here is the surprise within the surprise: hidden within each story are, more or less veiled, precious unpublished advice from Pierangelini and some of his recipes”.  [Giulio Cesare Ricci]

These are the words with which Giulio Cesare Ricci introduces this new project for fonè, truly unique, on the one hand an extraordinary provocation towards the international elite (the texts of the 4 stories are translated in the CD booklet in English and French) that revolves around the world of cooking, and on the other the courage to publish a curious and stimulating operation in such a particular moment in the discography. Those who have already listened to the stories written by Pierangelini - which follow the musical performance of the movements of the individual Vivaldi seasons - without knowing the author, thought that they were texts prepared by a writer. The voice of Fulvio Pierangelini, truly very emotional, was captured by the legendary Neumann microphones (the same ones also used by Ella Fitzgerald and the Beatles) prepared by the wise arts of Mr. fonè.

And so Fulvio Pierangelini comments on this new adventure, far from the kitchens, but full of new ingredients: ....  “Finally, the dream of two visionaries has come true. To fix my voice with the highest possible quality in the world. In the most magical recording studio imaginable, the extraordinary microphones that would capture my words warmed up like an impetuous 12 cylinder from another time. I am a chef, I have no trained voice, I have never attended the Actor Studio, but Julius Caesar, who knows, was calm and believed in it”. [Fulvio Pierangelini]
