With the symphonic suite SHEHERAZADE begins the collaboration between Giulio Cesare Ricci and the great conductor Gianandrea Noseda and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro Regio of Turin.
It is a live recording that preserves the naturalness, dynamics and realism of what is played.
A recording made in the natural acoustics of the Teatro Regio of Turin, recorded without any manipulation of the sound, without equalization, without reverb, without condensing or expanding the sound... exclusively with natural sound with real timbre.
Giulio Cesare Ricci made two recordings of the same musical performance: one recording is included in SACD 148, in which he used three pairs of tube microphones Neumann U47, U48, M49 and the other in SACD 193 "recording with only two microphones. .. directly from the analog master".
The SACD 193 recording is the "two microphones only" version, as only one pair of legendary tube microphones was used for the recording: a pair of Neumann U47.
The result of this recording with only two microphones is fantastic, very natural.
With this recording Giulio Cesare Ricci wants to give the listener a unique experience.
It is as if the listener were sitting in a chair positioned very high, at the height of the third row of the stalls.
In this position the sound has a field effect and its depth, width and height are very evident.
Great dynamics, but also great precision in the solo parts.
For the mastering of the SuperAudioCD Giulio Cesare Ricci used the Signoricci system, completely analog and tube-based.
The master for the SACD was made by transferring the analog master recorded with the Ampex ATR 102, 2 tracks, ½ inch, 30ips to Pyramix with dCS A/D and D/A converters.
