Conceived, recorded and produced by da Giulio Cesare Ricci Recording assistant Paola Liberato Recorded in Volterra (PI), Teatro Persico Flacco in August 2012 Valve microphones Neumann U47, U48, M49 Mike pre-amplifiers, cables and line: Signoricci The master for Vinyl was implemented with the Ampex ATR 102 (Electronic Tube Ampex Model 351 - 1965) 2 tracks, 1/2" 30ips modified by David Manley. The mastering was done by Giulio Cesare Ricci using the entirely analog and tube Signoricci system.
This album compared to the two (LP 059 and LP 051) has the particularity of being double and at 45rpm. To the 9 tracks present in the 33rpm versions, three more are added:Agostino(Batista Lena),Il cuore e l'azzurro(Enzo Pietropaoli) andAll through the night(Cole Porter). A trumpet, a guitar and a double bass. The absence of the drums immediately brings to mind the late Chet Baker, an intimate and sensual dimension. The music was "photographed" in the wonderful acoustics of the "Persico Flacco" theater in Volterra, waiting for the five o'clock bells to stop ringing or for the thunder of a late summer storm to subside. A choice that put the musicians in direct contact with their simplest essence, highlighting their strength and fragility. This recording technique opened a window to the future for me, we went back decades, as often happens when you are looking for something and to find it you have to look to the past.[Enzo Pietropaoli] The result manages to combine great precision and naturalness of sound with the human, lively and vivid presence of the musicians.[Battista Lena] The impression is of being able to expand the image of the sound with a magnifying glass to infinity, discovering new details each time that always remain perfectly in focus.[Fulvio Sigurtà]
