With this album the stimulating collaboration with Scott Hamilton continues. In BEAN AND THE BOYS presents himself in a trio formation together with Paolo Birro on piano and Alfred Kramer on drums. All compositions are by Coleman Hawkins, except "I Mean You", which is by Coleman Hawkins and Thelonious Monk, and "Body and Soul", which was composed by Johnny Green. This album is part of the musical projects created in the ancient vaulted cellar of the Palazzo di Scoto di Semifonte in Certaldo Alto (near Florence). The songs were recorded from start to finish without any sound manipulation. The master was made with the AMPEX ATR 102 (Electronic Tube Ampex Model 351-1965) 2 tracks 1/2" 30ips modified by David Manley. The master original analogue for the SACD is a transfer onto dCS A/D and D/A DSD 64 x 44.1 bit converters (Signoricci modification) with Signoricci ex Philips workstations featuring Pyramix programs. The mastering of the SACD was carried out by Giulio Cesare Ricci using the analog and valve Signoricci's system, a state-of-the-art system without any manipulation.
