The absolute protagonist of this album is a special duo: Riccardo Zegnapianoand Giampaolo Casatitrumpet, cornet and flugelhorn. The repertoire includes pieces from the jazz tradition of Cole Porter, John & Reb Spikes, Billy Strayhorn, Irvin Berling, Dizzy Gillespie and Edward Duke Ellington. The song Paris Blues, from which the album takes its name, is by the latter. Paris Blues was recorded in February 2015 in the ancient cellar of the Palazzo di Scoto di Semifonte in Certaldo Alto (near Florence). For this recording Giulio Cesare Ricci used the legendary and original Neumann U47, U48 and M49 valve microphones. The mastering of the album was performed by Giulio Cesare Ricci using theanalog and tubeSignoricci's system.
